Kinzo (commonly known as "Ekin"), the painter of the end of the Edo era, whose name "Tosa Kinzo" is derived, used the Sake brewery as a workshop to paint original and passionate screens.
Every year in July, on the eve of the Sanctuary Summer Festival suruta Hachimangu, the paints-screens are exhibited on the roofs of the shopping district. Mysteriously illuminated by the light of candles, they represent strange scenes inspired by Kabuki pieces, painted in intense primary colors, submerging the viewer by their incredible power. The tenacity and spirit of the Atypical Kinzo painter, who shaped his unique universe, are still transmitted today to Akaoka and continue to convey to the world his intense energy.
In 2005, a spatial yeast was grown for 10 days in space. In January and May 2021, yeast was placed at 6,200 meters deep off the ribs of Ibaraki Prefecture for four months. This process is identified as a culture at low temperatures and high pressures. The yeast had to survive several months at a depth of 6,200 meters, with a chance of survival of 1 out of 300 million.
The Sake Tosa Kinzo is a special brewed saké with two types of yeast: a yeast having traveled in space (Cosmos AC17) and the other subject to the marine depths (Cosmos Deep Sea AA41). This Sake Tosa Kinzo of Pur Rice embodies the passion of the Takagi brewery and the spirit of the Kinzo painter.
The cellar master of the brewery specifies that this saké is well balanced if it is not too fresh. It is tasted well at room temperature, but from the beginning of autumn, it is better to serve lukewarm or warm. The aromas evoke banana, cereals, gently and complex. The mouth is light, elegant acidity, a small bit of bitterness, hull fruit accents and tertiary notes. Agreements: Seafood, Crustaceans, White Meat Crémed, Ohhound
