Kokeshi dolls are part of Japanese folk art. These traditional Japanese wooden dolls and figurines, created during the Edo period (1600 - 1868) and originating from the Tohoku region, were originally made for children.
According to popular belief, they were also believed to transmit messages that they hid in their trunks.

Manzairaku Kaga Umeshu, 5 years aged

From €48.00Umeshu is a traditional Japanese alcoholic drink made from Japanese plums called "ume" and distilled alcohol. Ume are macerated for several months, creating a sweet and fruity drink. Plums are picked by hand, underripe to keep the freshness of the fruit. They are then transported to the Kura (Japanese for brewery) to be processed. Stalk and the rest of the calyx are removed by hand. Plums are then washed. They are immersed in 28% vol. sugar cane alcohol to which sugar crystals are added. This maceration will be carried out during the 6 hottest months of the year.

The name of this hot pot is associated with the noise and the movement from left to right of the meat in the broth with your chopsticks to cook it once immersed in the broth. The meat should be cooked in about 10 seconds so that it remains soft and tender. -
