Yuzu Kosho

Yuzu Kosho is the magnificent result of the fusion of the heat of chili peppers with the tangy freshness of Yuzu from Japan. “Yuzu” is this Japanese citrus fruit with a unique taste mixing flavors of green mandarin and lemon and “Kosho” means pepper. This word combination literally means “spicy yuzu paste”.

Yuzu Kosho comes in 3 main variations. Green Yuzu Kosho is the classic and traditional version of this condiment. It is prepared by combining fresh green chili pepper with green Yuzu zest which also gives it sweetness without bitterness. This variety offers a bright, fresh flavor. Red Yuzu Kosho is a bolder and spicier version of this condiment. This strain offers intense heat and a robust aroma, with a touch of acidity and citrus. It is ideal for those looking for a more tangy and spicy dining experience. Yellow Yuzu Kosho is a lesser known variation but just as delicious as its green and red counterparts. Its particularity lies in the use of yellow peppers and ripe yellow yuzu, creating a balanced and slightly sweet flavor, while preserving the spiciness to stimulate the taste buds.
