Nim-Shiitake Nimono 530g

Nimono is a simmered dish in Japanese cuisine, usually consisting of a base ingredient simmered in shiru broth and seasoned with sake, soy sauce, and a small amount of sweetener.

Nimono is simmered in shiru for a certain amount of time until the liquid is absorbed by the base ingredient or evaporates. The particle “ni” in nimono means “to simmer” or “to cook over low heat.”

Nimono therefore refers to food simmered in a dashi broth flavored with sugar, sake, mirin, and soy sauce, as well as sometimes a little salt. Nimono is usually prepared using an otoshibuta (drop lid), which rests on top of the ingredients and prevents the liquid from evaporating completely and keeps the ingredients in place.

Our shiitake nimono is made from genuine oak mushrooms, grown exclusively in the forest on oak trunks, in the heart of nature. They are grown in a healthy environment, without the use of any chemicals whatsoever.

These shiitake mushrooms can be enjoyed cold as an appetizer or as a condiment for your fresh salads, shellfish, tartares, carpaccios, tatakis, etc. Reheated in a bain-marie, they can be served with soups, broths, ramen, pasta, risottos, rice, etc.
