The raw black sugar of the island of Iriomote has a deep and rich flavor and a strong softness, with little salinity or bitterness, which makes it suitable for a wide variety of recipes.

The Island of Iriomote is Okinawa's second largest island after the main island. Located 400 km from Okinawa's main island, it has recently been surrounded by nature and has an environment close to a humid rainforest, if one considers only the average temperature.

It is also famous for its unique ecosystem, including the wildcap of Iromote, the yellow border turtle and crested snake, which are exceptional natural monuments, and for its valuable natural resources preserved around the world.
