Takemoto Oil & Fat Co. Ltd is the oldest oil extraction company in Japan. Founded in 1725 by Chozaburo Takemoto in the Prefecture of Aichi, it always belongs to the Founding Family. For more than 290 years, Takemoto has produced sesame oil without hexane to ensure optimal quality and genuine taste.
The traditional extraction method, respectful of aromas and flavors, remains unchanged since the creation of the company. Sesame seed supply meets very stringent standards and only the best origins in terms of organoleptic qualities and food security are retained.
Each batch retained is controlled, analyzed and rid of all foreign bodies. For the making of roasted sesame oils, the seeds are roasted at low temperatures. This operation is paramount to confer on sesame oil its unique taste of hazelnut. The extraction of sesame oil is under pressure. This technique is known as the traditional pressure extraction method.
This method takes time, but it is very important for the oil process marketed under their flagship mark Maruhon. It guarantees the preservation of nutritional qualities, aromas, flavors, color and texture of the oil produced. This sesame oil, coppery, with slightly grilled notes, has soft fresh aromas that enhance the qualities of other ingredients.
