The kôji-rice (starter must) and yeast used, the moromi rice must slowly age at a low temperature: all gives it a very elegant fragrance. Particularly sweet and very fruity, it has a very surprising taste close to Nihon Shu sake, but much stronger.
Our perfect combination : its tasting will be dry or on the rocks, or cut with hot or cold water, as an aperitif or digestive, or will still be used to make delicious cocktails.
This shōchū benefits from the Protected Geographical Identification Kuma Shōchū
Kyushu island in Japan and more precisely the Kuma basin to the south of Kumamoto prefecture, has been the most well-known for the production of rice Shôchû for more than five centuries.
