Kokuto, Black Cane Gross Sugar, Pieces, Kohama

The Gross Black Sugar of Kohama Island Cane is a long-standing local resource and is the main industry of the island, as evidenced by the sugar road.

Neither too sweet nor too bitter, her refreshing flavor is perfect. Its color recalls that of chocolate. The island of Kohama is part of the Yaeyama Islands.

It is about 30 minutes by ferry from Ishigaki Island. It is a small isolated island of 16.6 km from circumference.

The island of Kohama has become famous for having served as a decor at the television series "Churasan" broadcast on the NHK in the first half of 2001.

Among the scenes, the sugar road, filmed like the series of the series, is a unique road lined with sugar cane fields. The nostalgic landscape of the past remained intact.
