Nihonbare Rice - Wakai Noen Brand -

"Nihon" means Japan and "Bare" refers to the sunny sky, well cleared. This cultivated rice without pesticide is a classic at Wakai Noen, since the 70s. 50 years ago, it was the rice standard in Japan.

This was the first high variety in accelerated method. However, currently this variety is almost more cultivated because it is less resistant to heat. During the harvest period, the rice fields are gorgeous colors.

This rice still serves today to make saké. The grains are small, less fluffy, less sweet than Koshihikari. Its lightweight taste and good firmness predestines it at the making of vinegar rice. It is a rice very popular with sushi restaurants.
