      In the country of Kagami, in the city of Ryuo, Shiga Prefecture (who praises the Lake Biwa), farmers have inherited, generations to generation, a rich agriculture enjoying the pure spring water from the mountains.

      Our farmer, Yasunori Wakai, represents the 16th generation (since 1613) of his family to cultivate rice in the purest respect for traditions, on 32 hectares, in the prefecture of Shiga.

      Its rice reached the 5-star Master level, the highest rank of the Masters making these rice the ultimate in the field in Japan and the world.

      "Pika" is an onomatopoeia that means Flash and "Maru" means round.

      This hybrid rice of "Kanto 221 GB" and "Nikomaru" varieties has been grown by Wakai Noen for about ten years. He looks like Milky Queen. Its grain is round, big, little sticky.

      The taste is full. Once cooked, the rice is sparkling and has the particularity of not hardening rapidly. It is firm and tenacious and therefore perfect for the Onigiri.

      This exceptional rice is recommended in tasting of meats.
