      Poetic and philosophical, sakura cherry blossom has been the identity and symbol of Japanese government since the Nara period (710-794).
      As Japan's national flower, sakura cherry blossom represents a period of renewal and optimism. The bursts of pink mark the end of winter and signify the beginning of spring. Due to their rapid blooming, cherry blossoms also symbolize the transience of life, a major theme in Buddhism.
      Edible flowers and leaves of Sakura have a distinctive flavor and divine fragrance. Taste of Sakura is subtly sweet and floral. It does not have the fruity taste of cherries. You may be surprised by the almond or almond kernel flavor without any bitterness.

      To use, take a few salted sakura cherry blossoms and rinse them gently to remove the salt, and you will have an excellent floral tea. Salted cherry blossoms are ideal for decorating and flavoring tea-based drinks, desserts, jellies, white rice, white fish or shellfish tartares, and more.
