Indeed, this tea is cultivated in altitude (400 to 500 meters) and without shade. Moreover, temperature differences between day and night are important and air is very pure.
This tea is not fermented, it is roasted, which gives it its brown color. Leaves used are from the late season harvest.
When infused, this tea has a light brown color.
On the palate, it is slightly velvety and offers slightly woody notes.
Hojicha is low in tannin and caffeine, and is often served as a mealtime drink in Japanese hospitals.
It is a tea that children can drink in peace.
We recommend it at the end of fatty or rich meals or before bedtime.
