Founded in 1716 in the city of Hakusan (Ishikawa Prefecture), the Manzairaku Sake Kura house is a historic brewery whose name means "always happy". Located in a region renowned for the quality of its water and sake, it upholds a philosophy built on sharing, conviviality and the pleasure of tasting.
Since 1990, it has produced Kaga Ume-shu, a plum liqueur crafted using a traditional method from green plums, sugar, alcohol and brewing water. Produced entirely in the Hokuriku region, this liqueur stands out for its balance between aromatic richness and freshness.
Its quality rests on the exclusive use of the rare Benisashi plum, grown in the prefectures of Ishikawa and Fukui. Richer in amino acids than common varieties, it delivers a soft, mellow texture, a pronounced umami and great depth of flavour. This exceptional liqueur has notably been served in first class on All Nippon Airways flights to Europe and North America.
