TEAPOTS FAQ

The Japanese teapot: between tradition and precision

The Japanese ceramic teapot is renowned for its ability to preserve the purity of aromas. It softens the astringency of tea while providing a balanced infusion. It is the essential utensil for lovers of Japanese green teas such as sencha or gyokuro. The shapes of the teapots preserve every fragrant note. Their elegant design achieves the perfect intensity of flavours while adding a unique decorative touch to your living space. With refined colours and an original handle, the teapot becomes far more than a simple utensil: it transforms into a true decorative object. The tea it produces, whether green or black, is served with undeniable elegance, whether in matching Japanese cups or mugs.

The kyusu teapot: a classic of the Japanese art of tea

Among the iconic models, the Kyusu teapot stands out for its side handle and its fineness of infusion. In Japanese, "Kyusu" simply means "teapot". This individual teapot is perfect for enthusiasts wishing to enjoy a tasting moment in complete serenity.

Care and longevity of a Japanese teapot

Caring for your teapot is essential to preserve its longevity. Avoid any direct contact with a flame and do not place it in the dishwasher or microwave. The teapot must not be heated directly on a hob, in order to guarantee the quality of the utensil and the infusions.

Elevating the tea experience

Ideal for accompanying your designer teapot or traditional one, these cups transform every tasting into a moment of calm and elegance. Pair them with your Japanese teapot to create a true tasting experience inspired by Japanese culture.

Bring Japanese tradition into your everyday life

Explore our full range of Japanese teapots, cups and tea accessories. Whether for a moment to yourself or a shared occasion, our items invite you to rediscover the beauty of the gesture and the richness of flavour, in keeping with Japanese traditions.

It is the role of the traditional Japanese teapot to bring out the aromas of the tea. It thus offers a unique tasting moment, enriching the atmosphere of your home and creating a zen ambiance, while revealing delicate and subtle flavours.

Choosing the size of your teapot

The choice of teapot size depends on the quantity of tea you wish to prepare. For a solo tasting, allow approximately 3 to 4 g of tea leaves. For the first infusion, bring 15 cl of filtered water (preferably with a low magnesium content) to 80°C, then leave to steep for 1 to 1.5 minutes. For high-quality teas, a small quantity of water (10 cl) is sufficient for a perfect infusion.

A selection of teapots for every enthusiast

Whether you are drawn to a colourful or more traditional teapot, or a particular model, you will find the ideal option to complete your collection and enjoy your teas in the best conditions. Investing in a Japanese teapot allows you to discover the richness of the Japanese art of tea and to bring a new dimension of refinement to your tasting moments.
