Tasting notes

Perfect pairings

It pairs very well with Japanese pastries (Wagashi), vanilla or chocolate desserts, baked sweet potatoes and dishes served with savoury sauces.

Tasting notes

Palate: The houjicha returns on the finish, offering a clean and intense aftertaste that prevents the liqueur from becoming too sweet.

Description

The tea is infused in the umeshu using various techniques to ensure that the fragrant aroma of the Hojicha truly comes through. When you pour the umeshu, a fragrant Houjicha aroma rises from the glass. The fruity sweetness and acidity of the base Umeshu are perfectly preserved, presenting a surprisingly harmonious balance with the roasted tea notes.
