  • Unique
  • Balanced richness & softness
  • Elegant

This sake is unique as it is brewed from Shirakaba Nishiki (kome koji) and Yoneshiro (kake mai) rice, both grown in Nagano and rarely used in sake production. This sake has a rich aroma and a gentle flavour, unlike typical genshu.

Description

Houka is a brand whose distribution is limited to sake shops specialising in local sake brands and that have thorough temperature control and specialist knowledge.
Made from Nagano rice with a polishing ratio of 70%, it is brewed using low-temperature fermentation techniques based on the brewers' unique data and the natural environment of Shinshu. It has a broad entry on the palate, with umami and sweetness spreading through the mouth — smooth and mellow.
Its stable aroma and elegant, gentle flavour fully express the rich taste of the rice, offering a pleasurable tasting experience. This sake is not only delicious but also available at a reasonable price, making it highly recommended by the brewers.
