What is the best tasting temperature for sake?

Sake has the distinctive quality of being able to be enjoyed at various temperatures ranging from 5 to 55°C. However, today the vast majority of sakes are served chilled or at room temperature to bring out their aromas and elegance. The recommended temperatures are indicated on the bottles.

Can sake be drunk from a wine glass?

Increasingly used, the wine glass does indeed allow aromas to develop and express themselves fully, particularly for the higher categories of sake. Purists will prefer tasting from sake glasses and cups, and at Nishikidôri, you will find our full range of sake tableware.

How should a bottle of sake be stored?

Sake keeps very well in the refrigerator at around 5 degrees. As with wine, it is recommended to consume it quickly after opening. Note that sake contains no preservatives

(such as sulphites) due to its pasteurisation.

How do you choose your sake?

Honjōzō have a light and fresh taste. Junmai and Kimoto are richer and more generous. More acidic with more body, they are perfect for

accompanying meals. Ginjō and Daiginjō are highly aromatic and develop more floral or fruity notes.

What are the best pairings?

Less acidic than wine and containing no tannins, sake can be paired more easily with many dishes, from aperitif to dessert.
