MAPLE LABORATORY CO. LTD

Based in the city of Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, Maple Laboratory Co., Ltd. creates a variety of food and skincare products from Japanese maple leaves. The company turns unused land into maple groves for both cultivation and tourism. In doing so, it hopes to help revitalise the city of Tajimi.

The Japanese maple has long been an emblematic plant of Japan. Its beautiful shape, appearance and red colour have been celebrated in Japanese poetry since time immemorial.

And the Japanese can appreciate each of these qualities as they watch the Japanese maple change through the four seasons.

Maple Laboratory Co., Ltd. continues to advance through innovation, particularly in flavour, ingredient research, processing methods and applications in nutraceutical foods, using maple from its own plantation as a raw material.

It creates new products that showcase the colour, grain and health benefits of Japanese maple, inviting you to discover the nature and beauty of Japan.

Maple products have been consumed for a long time. For example, maple syrup is made from the sap of sugar maple (Acer saccharum) and red maple (A. rubrum). In Japan, tea is also made from the leaves of Nikko maple (A. nikoense).

Japanese maple is also eaten as tempura or consumed as an extract. In China, it is also used in traditional Kanpo medicine to treat inflammation or as a painkiller.

University research has now highlighted the benefits of maples. Maples are remarkable plants, both today and for the future.

The company recently acquired a sakura cherry tree plantation and harvests its flowers and leaves by hand to offer a new range of high-quality products.

I only added the accent to ‘Établie’, lowercased ‘préfecture’ and removed some extra spaces: the rest of the spelling was correct.
