AOKI HAMONO

Aoki Hamono is a cutlery house founded in 1947 in Sakai by Aoki Ichiro, who named the brand after his eldest son: Sakai Takayuki. The company quickly expanded its range of kitchen knives and established itself as a benchmark in Japan and internationally.

Today led by Aoki Takahiro (3rd generation), it stands out for its ability to adapt to market developments.
Based in Sakai, a city with 600 years of tradition in blade forging, Aoki Hamono is part of a unique artisanal system in which blacksmiths and sharpeners collaborate. The company plays a central role by coordinating production, guaranteeing quality, and overseeing sales.

Unlike many players in the industry, Aoki Hamono also has its own workshops, including the renowned Sanpo workshop, where recognised master craftsmen work. Committed to passing on its expertise, the company also trains new apprentices. This combination of tradition, in-house mastery, and innovation explains the leading position of its knives on the Sakai market, while perpetuating the spirit of innovation that is characteristic of this historic city.
