Description
TARU means barrel.
The cellar master of the Sengetsu distillery assembled the finest rice shochu from the distillery and then aged it in oak barrels for at least 6 years. The fusion of the rich aroma of oak barrels that have matured over many years and the flavour of rice shochu offers aromas of nuts, cherry bonbons, vanilla and spices.
The oak notes, very present, evoke freshly mulched wood in summer.
The colour is amber, golden.
The palate is smooth, indulgent, almost creamy. The slightly woody oak notes and vanilla accents return.
This shochu can be enjoyed neat, at the end of a meal, on ice or at room temperature, or diluted with 1/3 of very cold water alongside grilled beef, hard cheese (Comté, Parmesan, Mimolette) or even a good chocolate dessert.
