Made entirely from rice, using crystal-clear water and selected rice from Mizukami village in Kumamoto prefecture, Resena shochu is fermented with the innovative KF7 yeast to produce a lively, apple-like aroma and rich umami. Named after the distiller’s own child, this rare gem is highly sought after and available only through a limited distribution network in Japan.

Description
Ohishi Shuzo distillery was founded in 1872 (Meiji year 5). It specialises in shochu. It is located in Mizukami village, Kuma district, Kumamoto prefecture, at the prefecture’s south-eastern edge on the border with Miyazaki prefecture, in an area where rice is grown in abundance. It uses pure water from the Kuma River and locally grown rice (some of the rice comes from the distillery’s own paddies).
Its rice shochu, renowned for its very high quality, carries the Kuma Shochu geographical indication.
