Furthermore, they had a pointed bottom and were known as \"cucumber-shaped bottles\"; the cork stopper was tied with wire to prevent it from flying off under the pressure of the gas.\u003cbr\u003eThe name \"ramune\" is said to be a dialect word for this lemonade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cu\u003eWhy are marbles used as stoppers?!\u003c\/u\u003e\u003cbr\u003eUnlike other carbonated drinks, ramune contains \"marbles\" that act as stoppers.\u003cbr\u003eAt a time when screw caps or crown caps did not yet exist as they do today, cork stoppers were originally used.
