This fish is commonly called "Megisu" because it has big eyes. It is highly appreciated by the inhabitants of the coastal town of Joetsu.

Our perfect combination : nigisu fish, reputed to have a very strong Umami flavor, combined with miso, can make fabulous miso soups, garnish grilled onigiri or yaki-onigiri (roasted rice balls) or raise the nabe (Japanese boiled dishes).
Its powerful aromas also allow fabulous land-sea pairings associated with grilled red meats, beef, duck, game.
