The Kara mandarin is a hybrid of King tangerine (better known under the Murcott variety, citrus nobilis) and stasuma owari tangerine (citrus unshiu).

The Kara mandarin is a hybrid of King tangerine (better known under the Murcott variety, citrus nobilis) and stasuma owari tangerine (citrus unshiu).
Late maturing, it is harvested from February to April.
The fruits have few seeds and are very juicy.
The fruit is appreciated for its very pronounced orange color. The juice is dense, almost syrupy, very sweet, very little acid.
The fruit is quite rare and the quantities of juice very limited.
Our perfect combination : sauce bases, pastry recipes, such as macaroons, pastry and Bavarian creams, mousses, sorbets, cocktails, ganaches…
