Karaimo Nojo in Kagoshima Prefecture (a Japanese region well-known for traditionally growing sweet potatoes) recently developed a method for extracting natural sugar from sweet potatoes through the saccharification of their starch. The sugar obtained is reduced to a delicious syrup. The natural annou imo sweet potato syrup has a elegant, clear softness, without bitterness. We recommend enjoying it with cheeses such as goat's or sheep's cheese, conté, Beaufort, blue cheeses. It also brings out the flavour in pastries, cakes, crème fraîche, fruit sauces, cake dough, sour fruits, natural yoghurt, chestnuts, walnuts, ice creams and more.
