Born from the passionate will of a salt lover to develop quality production on Ogajima peninsula, Business Union Ogajima Peninsula Association salt is elaborated with respect for traditional methods. Made from very pure sea water, drawn from between sixty and a hundred metres, it offers excellent taste and quality minerals, good for health.
Secrets of an exceptional production
Once drawn close by the Ogajima peninsula, the sea water is transported to the production plant. It then goes through four ovens over a three-day period: first boiled to evaporate the water, it is then slowly brought to room temperature to obtain crystals which are neither too big nor too small. Whereas the usual yield for sea salt is thirty kilos per tonne, our Ogajima peninsula producer reduces their production to a maximum of twenty kilos per tonne drawn, guaranteeing, in this way, the superior quality of their salt.
